About Us

Quality and customer satisfaction is our primary concern

Since the inception of STI Electrical the focus has been on producing quality products that our customers can rely on. The quality of a transformer core affects the transformer diversely. A good quality core does not only reduce load losses but will contribute to a longer lifespan and lower running cost of the final product. This is why we have stringent quality checks performed by professionals throughout the manufacturing processes.

All prime material is checked for defaults by our engineers and tested on the following:

  • Thickness
  • Width
  • Weight
  • Surface Insulation
  • No-load Iron Losses

Cutting of material is done under supervision of highly experienced personnel that monitors the quality, and performs checks on the following.

  • Burr lever
  • Damage that may occur while processing.
  • Settings on the relevant machines.
  • Material sizes (According to customer specification)
Our Experience
1
Import of CRGO Rolls: We import complete CRGO rolls of various grades (M3, M4, M5, M6) These rolls are then tested for quality and cut to size.
2
CRGO Slit Coils: CRGO steel slit to customer specification from the required grade of material. This is carried out with an automatic slitting machine to acquire optimum results.
3
45° Cut: Cutting the 45° angle on the laminations that is required for fully mitred cores. This is done by both automatic and semi automatic shearing machines with tungsten steel blades.
4
V-Notching: The process of V-Notching in the yoke plates of the stacked laminations are carried out in semi automatic power presses using dies made of tungsten carbide for achieving an almost zero burr level.
5
Fully Mitred Cores: All the laminations are cut and assembled to form a complete fully mitred CRGO core according to design.
6
CRGO Core Assembly: The CRGO laminations are stacked to form the Core Assembly as per the design given by the customer. The core laminations are held rigidly by a steel frame and clamped together to prevent any kind of vibration. The top and bottom yoke clamping channel are linked together with Tie Rods. The core assembly is provided with lifting lugs suitable for lifting the complete core of the transformer without transmitting the stresses to the laminations. Finally the core is tested for losses and certified by us.

Standards & Quality

Stacking of cores is done manually and every layer is added to the next with precision. Quality check and precision monitoring is done throughout this process to ensure proper stacking of cores.
Measurements to ensure the core meet client specification
Finally the core is tested as a whole for iron losses and certified with losses attached.
